As we already wrote in our review about the 2019 Ram Power Wagon, this truck will suffer significant changes. Styling and mechanics are getting improvements. One of these is a new 4×4 system, that will boost balance, traction, and off-road capabilities of the pickup truck. Nevertheless, that is nothing compared to a new generation that comes as 2020 Ram Power Wagon 6×6.
Although a new 4WD drive will be a highlight of the 2019 season model, already next truck will make a more interesting version. It is a 6×6 driving system. Somehow, this is a revive of the idea that appeared 20 years ago with T-Rex truck. Back then it had no success bosses expected to see. The idea remained for next years, and in production, it will definitely be realized with 2020 Ram Power Wagon.
2020 Ram Power Wagon 6×6 Spy Shots
We know that Ram is already out with new models. Ongoing testing of upcoming HD models is spied. Nevertheless, there is no sign of some prototype which could be 2020 Ram Power Wagon 6×6. We believe the company is planning to launch it with some extra hi-tech features. So, the working mule will get a 360-degree camera and fully automatic crawl control. But, in two years many things will change, so it is still early to talk about features.
2020 Ram Power Wagon 6×6 Engine and Specs
The first and main question regarding the 2020 Ram Power Wagon 6×6 is – what will be under the hood? It is primary information to be unveiled before we ask about towing capacity, outputs, and fuel economy. At this moment, there are two theories about the drivetrain solution for 2020 Power Wagon 6×6.
According to one, Ram will update V-8 Hemi engine. It is a 5.7-liter unit, which is now capable to deliver 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. Another possibility is a huge V-10 drivetrain. Twenty years ago, T-Rex used 8.0-liter unit, but we doubt that Power Wagon 6×6 could use such big unit. The downgrade of the volume is possible, but V-10 is still an option.
2020 Ram Power Wagon 6×6 CTIS system
One thing is already sure for 2020 Ram Power Wagon 6×6. This truck will use a central tire inflation system. The CTIS controls the pressure in tires and improves the driving on various terrains and conditions. This system is widely used on agriculture machines and in the military.
