European buyers can’t wait to see the 2021 Isuzu D-Max. This truck has already been presented in Asia and Australia. Fans’ first impression after looking at the new pickup can be described as pure enthusiasm. Unlike the outgoing model, which showed its best features in the areas that characterize working machines, the newcomer promises to become a technology miracle. Also, the D-Max is more attractive and it could draw more buyers.
The latest photos published by the Japanese manufacturer are showing the next-gen 2021 Isuzu D-Max, which was developed from scratches. The pickup became larger. Also, the hood is new and hides a 3.0 turbodiesel engine. More power and torque promise a lot of fun. Isuzu also confirms the upcoming D-Max will be more capable of off-road driving, thanks to the special packages. The truck is going to dive deeper – now up to 31 inches, compared to 23 in before.
2021 Isuzu D-Max Features and Interior
The interior of the new 2021 Isuzu D-Max has undergone the biggest changes. This is the biggest step forward compared to the outgoing model. The dashboard is highlighted with a 9.0-inch touchscreen display. The infotainment system offers Apple Car Play and Android Auto connectivity services. Plus, there is a smaller instrument cluster of 4.2 inches. The driver’s display is now fully digital.
There are also a lot of cool features Isuzu added for the entry-level model. For example, automatic wipers and adjustable steering column. Another cool option is a three-tone turn indicators and driver can set the favorite setup by a single click. Key automatically unlocks the vehicle when you get close to the pickup. When you move 2 meters away, the key will lock it again. An eight-speaker audio system highlights the premium package, as well as sports seats wrapped in leather.
2021 Isuzu D-Max Specs
A 3.0-liter engine is one of the biggest upgrades on the truck. The turbodiesel unit is good for 140 kW (188 hp) and 450 Nm (330 lb-ft). That is 20 Nm and 10 kW more than before. Such figures place the Japanese pickup at the top of the range in its class with Ford Ranger (160 kW), Nissan Navara (same outputs), Toyota Hilux (130 kW)…
As said, the carmaker makes the 2021 Isuzu D-Max meaner than before. It is lifted and capable to go off the road. A rear differential with the locking function has been implemented. Now, the better traction is provided thanks to the limited-slip differential. A 3.0 turbodiesel is a new unit for now. However, Isuzu also announces a petrol drivetrain. A 1.9-liter bi-turbo should be there to meet harsh emission standards in Europe.
