After the original SUV, Ford will launch a few more vehicles with the iconic nameplate. Bronco was discontinued not because of its poor sales or problems, but for wholly different reasons. It was unstoppable in one of the biggest car chases in history. Now, it comes back. And it brings menace. The SUV will take on the most capable rivals. A lighter, Baby Bronco or Bronco Sport is planned as well. The final piece of the puzzle will be the 2024 Ford Bronco Truck.
Some of the most respectable magazines announced the arrival of the pickup (Motor1, Automobilemag). Experts are sharing the opinion – the 2024 Ford Bronco Truck will take on the Jeep Gladiator. The Blue Oval carmaker already has a representative in the midsize segment, but the new FCA’s arrival is something different. It is like a Wrangler truck. Since Bronco is its rival, it will also come up with the truck version – long story short.
2024 Ford Bronco Truck – Expectations
So far, everything is just a rumor. But, we can find some inside info about production plans. The pickup will be built in 2023 and appear as 2024 YM. The question is – is it really needed? Or Ford wants to prove its dominance in the pickup market. The company is already testing compact Courier. Recently, they brought back Ranger. The midsize model also needs several upgrades and we can listen to rumors about a V6 and diesel engines, as well as the Raptor version. The 2024 Ford Bronco Truck is the latest thing we can hear of, but there are no proofs for these speculations.
Whatsoever, the Jeep Gladiator is out and it drew quite an attention. The midsize model with the fullsize engine sounds special. So unique, we cannot find it in Ford’s lineup. The Blue Oval badge is not letting it happen.
Specs, Engines
There are a lot of options for the 2024 Ford Bronco Truck engine room. One thing is sure – the vehicle is getting a diesel unit to match Gladiator’s offer. A 3.0-liter Powerstroke can produce 260 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. With it, Bronco pickup will be more capable for off-road duties. Also, buyers will find several other upgrades, such as all-terrain tires and lifted suspensions.
Still, the truck will be based on the upcoming SUV. So, we need to wait a bit more to see what does the 2021 Bronco is bringing. The premiere is delayed once again and Ford keeps all the information as a secret. Everything is so mysterious that some fans believe the SUV is not going to arrive when promised.
The Bronco SUV will indicate what kinds of powertrains we can expect. A naturally-aspirated V6 is one of the options, as well as the high-output version, either 3.0 or 3.5. Also, a hybrid drivetrain is possible. We already have Lincoln Aviator with a lot of power from the PHEV system, and lighter Explorer Hybrid. Whatsoever, we don’t know what happens in four years. One thing is sure – the company will follow the latest trends to make the 2024 Ford Bronco Truck appealing.
