The engine creates up to 350 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque and sends them through a six-speed gearbox. Compared to the heavy-duty segment, Kodiak cuts the power and twist. Silverado 3500 creates 450 hp and 930 pound-feet.

Between these two is the Silverado 5500, or TopKick with the price right in the middle. The only competition Kodiak will face comes from Ford. The F-450 is the direct rival for the Silverado 4500, while F-550 and F-650 are representatives for series 5 and 6. Ram doesn’t plan to offer chassis trucks next season.
