Ford is now focusing on the crossover and SUV classes. Well, they updated the truck segment. The heavy-duty lineup is now in the new generation and the next thing we see is the F-150 with the huge revisit. Still, the 2021 Ford F-350 Super Duty will get a couple of updates to refresh the interest.
Still, this is the most capable truck in the segment. Properly equipped, the 2021 Ford F-350 Super Duty will be able to tow up to 35,000 pounds. Well, not too many truckers will need the maximum out of its ride. We could describe the F-350 as a house on wheels, with the space inside the cabin and all the features it offers.
The biggest advantage of the truck comes from its engine lineup. Now, a new V8 powerplant is under the hood. However, a petrol unit is not going to be close to the performance of the diesel option. For the best of the F-350, you will need the Powerstroke unit. On the other hand, if you want luxury, the Limited package is bringing the latest technology and premium equipment.
2021 Ford F-350 Super Duty Specs (Diesel and Petrol Engines, Dually Truck)
For the next season, Ford plans to cut the old 6.2-liter engine. For a long time, this one served as the base solution for the Super Duty class. Now, its 385 hp and 430 lb-ft are not enough. Instead, the company launched an all-new V8 powerplant. A 7.3-liter displacement improves specs and towing capacity. With 430 hp and 485 lb-ft, you can count on your truck to haul more.
However, the highlight of the 2021 Ford F-350 Super Duty lineup is the diesel engine. A 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 is ready to provide 450 hp and the incredible amount of torque – up to 1,050 lb-ft. That is enough for 35,000 lbs of towing capacity. To achieve these numbers, buyers will need a couple of other upgrades. If you see the F-350 with dual-rear wheel configuration, you know it is the meanest truck on the road. A 10-speed automatic transmission is able to handle such power and torque.
Features and Options
The 2021 Ford F-350 Super Duty is not all about the power. The truck will offer plenty of variations. There are all three cab configurations available – Regular, SuperCab, and Crew Cab. Also, you need to choose between short and long beds. Dual-rear wheel drive is coming only if you pick an 8-foot box. Six trim levels are on the table. The base model is XL. The XLT is a $5,000 upgrade that brings lane-keep assist and Sync3 infotainment system.
The Lariat model is going to cost just under $50,000 thanks to the features such as Bang&Olufsen audio and leather upholstery. Still, it is nothing compared to the options the 2021 Ford F-350 King Ranch offers. Trailer tow camera, heated and ventilated front buckets, special paints, and premium leather are the most notable options on the long features list. The Platinum trim is even more luxurious, but not even close to the Limited version.
