Meanwhile, it looks like the GM twins are falling behind. Luckily, rumors mentioning the 2022 Chevy Silverado ZRX are waking up the hope among fans of the Bow-Tie brand.
Rumors about the high-performance truck date back to 2019. However, there are very few leads that can tell us what to expect. Definitely, the 2022 Chevy Silverado ZRX was supposed to be so-called Raptor-Killer. But, the Ram TRX is the one that made Ford worried. Now, the ZRX has a tougher task. According to first speculations, engineers were about to deliver a mighty configuration with more than 700 horsepower.

Ram Rebel TRX is using a 6.2-liter Hellcat engine. Ford is using its “Predator” unit with more than 750 horsepower for the Raptor R. Chevrolet is also hiding an ace upon the sleeve. A 6.2-liter supercharged engine is already used by Camaro. For the pickup truck, it will need special tuning. Experts say the mill could end up delivering anything between 650 and 750 horsepower. We expected high outputs, but now, the new levels are set. The 2022 Chevy Silverado ZRX will have to make at least 700 hp, to make the same amount of power like the Ram 1500 TRX. If GM wants to go after Ford Raptor R, engineers will have to make a 6.2-l V8 make more than that.
Expectations, Release Date, Price
For a long time, Chevrolet was the main rival to Ford in the truck market. Ram 1500 broke the two-way game and the sales of this pickup are now better than GM’s. It triggered an alarm, but FCA didn’t stop there. The US-Italian corporation is after Ford. General Motors is not going to give up so easily. The 2022 Chevy Silverado ZRX is the model that could keep them on truck.
