Engines and Specs

A six-speed automatic gearbox is sending power to wheels. This transmission works nicely, but Allison did a great job on its latest 10-pace case. That is why the 2023 Ram HD trucks might replace AISIN transmission.
Besides an oil burner, the heavy-duty class will also feature a petrol unit. A 6.4-liter V8 is able to deliver nearly 500 hp. But, for Dodge Ram heavy-duty trucks, the engine is creating 410 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque. Here, an eight-speed automatic gearbox serves as the power router.

The Power Wagon package is available only for the Dodge Ram 2500 truck. This is a special edition, with unique upgrades that enhance styling and off-road capability. In the past, this package had limited themes for the exterior, such as Mojave edition. Ram got us used to such things, so the 2023 YM might offer some of those upgrades as well.

The 2023 Ram HD can haul up to 35,000 pounds. But, the maximum towing potential requires a few steps in upgrading. First, you need the Series 3 model with a diesel engine. It is already enhanced with 400 hp and 1,000 lb-ft. then, the dual rear wheel setup provides maximum balance and traction. The price of this configuration sits above other models. Some truckers will skip on this one, not needing so many power and torque. Besides the high price, the 2023 Ram HD Dually is also going to consume significantly more fuel.
