It seems like the redesign of the 2024 Nissan Titan is not a priority for the Japanese company. They can build more SUVs and crossovers, vehicles that sell better. The last big update on the truck was in 2020. But it didn’t improve sales and made the Titan competitive with US pickups. With all the things changing in this market in the past few years, the upcoming model needs a lot of modifications to reach more buyers.
The redesign is the first thing the truck needs. The styling of the 2024 Nissan Titan is very old, dating back to 2016 when the current generation was launched. In the meantime, Nissan failed to deliver a single exciting concept. Warrior off-road trucks could face Ford Raptor and Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. They didn’t even try the diesel mill. We don’t count the Titan XD truck, which also discontinued its oil burner. So, let’s check what are the options for the upcoming pickup.
2024 Nissan Titan V8 Engine
The truck still use a V8 powertrain. A 5.6-liter mill is potent and reliable. Those are the most important characteristics a pickup needs. But, it is also very thirsty. To fix this, other companies are replacing big engines with smaller displacements. A twin-turbo V6 is a logical successor, but Nissan is not talking about this move yet. Maybe the new Infiniti QX80 Monograph concept can give us hints what to expect when it shows up. It will be the first big vehicle to be completely redesigned. Anyway, Infiniti builds luxury vehicles. The 2024 Nissan Titan needs something for work.
Even if the truck sticks to a V8, it won’t be such a big deal. The engine is ready to deliver 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. Towing capacity needs improvements. Nissan needs to be competitive against diesel units of Ram 1500 and Chevy Silverado.
Warrior Concept, Titan XD, and More Upgrades
The 2024 Nissan Titan XD is coming back, that is for sure. This is slightly larger truck, positioned between full-size and heavy-duty classes. A diesel engine made a difference, but it is no longer available. Still, the alternative is needed.
This truck introduced an interesting concept that never lived. The Warrior platform drew a lot of attention, but the company never offered this off-road package to Titan lineup. It would be interesting to see it competing with Silverado ZR2 or Ford Raptor. On the other hand, the concept is now pretty old, so Nissan could make something fresher.
The 2024 Nissan Titan Nismo is another performance-tuned model that causes a lot of noise. But, there are no too many buyers for such expensive trucks. So, the Titan Pro-4X remains the most exciting upgrade.
2024 Nissan Titan Prices
If nothing’s changed, Nissan doesn’t need to make the truck more expensive. The base version would cost $40,000. SV is an upgrade with a reasonable price. If you are after the Pro-4X, you will have to pay around $55k, while the premium version of the pickup is Platinum Reserve with a $60,000 price tag. Nismo and Warrior can beat that. The Titan XD starts from $38,000.
8′ bed on ANY trim level and cab configuration? That is the “elephant” in the room not being discussed. Intelligent Around View Monitor standard on all trim levels not just PRO-4x and Platinum Reserve.
