After a full redesign, we won’t see too many changes on the following models. The 2025 GMC Canyon is not coming out with notable updates. Small modifications of options across trim levels or a fresh paintjob are all you can expect. Well, with all the goodies packed on the current version, there is no need for big moves.
Two models are worth mentioning. If you are a fan of off-road drive, the all-new AT4x is the right choice. The company added a few things and improved the previous AT4 model. The same happened with the premium Denali version. The 2025 GMC Canyon Denali Ultimate is ready to become one of the most luxurious midsize trucks in the market.
Base Equipment and Accessories
The truck appears in the Elevation grade as the entry-level package. Only one color is free (Summit White) and there will be 7 or 8 more paints that you have to pay $500. Standard equipment for the Elevation model consists of 18-inch alloy wheels, LED lamps, remote tailgate functions, an 8-inch driver’s display, an 11-inch multimedia screen, and a 6-speaker audio. The package is ready for some off-road duties thanks to all-terrain tires and 4×4 suspension.
The Elevation model does not pack too many goodies, but there are optional packages to make it more attractive. Convenience bundle adds heated mirrors, storage compartments in bed, zonal climate control, and a power outlet. There are a few more features, but those are the best. Preferred package adds heated seats, Tech package upgrades camera system and features adaptive cruise control, while Safety Plus enhances overall safety.
2025 GMC Canyon AT4X Off-Road Truck
The AT4 is still part of the lineup. However, the 2025 GMC Canyon AT4X draws more attention. The base setup includes a 4WD, a 2-speed transfer case and a hill descent control. Preferred and Convenience package are part of the AT4 model. You will also get additional USB port. Of course, all-terrain tires and skid plates are unavoidable part of the off-road truck.
The AT4x enhances the offer with Safety Plus and Technology packages. Even the optional Premium bundle for the standard AT4 is there. So, the ultimate 4×4 model includes unique wheels and rubber, rock rails, tougher skid plates, locking differentials at both ends, and even a bedliner (spray-in). A 1-inch lift will create even more space under the truck. The AT4x also features some premium options, such as Bose sound, HUD, or a large driver’s cluster.
2025 GMC Canyon Denali Ultimate Luxury Package
When it comes to the luxury, nothing beats Denali models. For the 2025 season, the Ultimate edition could make them even more impressive. For now, the regular Denali carries over all the goodies of the AT4x model, including optional features and excluding off-road enhancing parts. Special 20-inch wheels, chromed accents and genuine leather make this one even more luxurious.
The 2025 GMC Canyon Denali Ultimate is the final stage of upgrading the truck (already available for the Sierra 1500). The price will tell you all. Expected price of the new package is above $60,000. Besides the standard equipment for the Denali model, the Ultimate bundle will add unique stuff, such as headliners, MultiPro tailgate, or the Super Cruise driver aid package.
Specs, Diesel Engine, Electric Truck
The redesign didn’t change only how the Canyon looks, but also brought a new engine. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit was already a poor performer and we expect it to be dropped. A 3.6-liter V6 could tow. On the other hand, its efficiency issues were too big. GMC needed something that could haul, but didn’t consume too much fuel.
A 2.7-liter turbo-four is the new choice with 310 horsepower. The four-banger also creates 430 lb-ft, which is close to the amount of torque Duramax diesel can produce. The truck returns 20 mpg combined, and the rating drops to 18 mpg with the AT4x model. It is better than the previous V6 could do. A new 8-speed transmission also deserves the praise.
For now, it is unknown if the 2025 GMC Canyon diesel is going to be available. With a petrol unit producing so much torque, an oil burner is not dominating. But, when it comes to the towing capacity, the new engine can’t match the records of the Duramax unit. Canyon could haul 7,700 pounds, while the current version is rated only at 6,000 lbs.
Pricing
There are too many configurations available for the 2025 GMC Canyon. You can select different cab and bed configurations, engines, drive modes, trim levels, and finally, individual options. The plain truck will cost around $40,000. A few years ago, we could buy a midsize pickup for $25,000. But, the prices of all models went up, Canyon was always considered as an upscale truck, and the new edition features a high-output engine. If there is a small four-pot unit, the MSRP would be under $35,000.
