Tesla started the evolution of the truck segment. We can say that the company provoked rivals to start building their electric pickups. So, the 2023 Tesla Cybertruck is not alone anymore. Now, there are Ford F-150 Lighting, Chevy Silverado EV, Hummer EUT… and a few more models to be launched in the foreseeable future. As the pioneer in the class, the Cybertruck will always be remembered for its electric drivetrain and the futuristic design.
The biggest importance of the EV is the courage to bring something new. It’s been a while since fans and experts are talking about electric pickups. There are a few startup projects and concepts available, but no one decided to invest into those. Elon Musk and Tesla believed in the Cybertruck project. It didn’t take too long between a spectacular announcement and the premiere of the pickup. The rest is already history.
The truck is still new. So, there is no need for big updates. As far as we can hear, the company might drop a new battery configuration for the 2023 Tesla Cybertruck, and that is mostly all.
2023 Tesla Cybertruck Specs and Towing Capacity
For now, the US company announced three different configurations for the 2023 Tesla Cybertruck. The first one to be out is a dual-motor AWD. According to Tesla, the battery is good for 300 miles of range and the towing capacity is around 10,000 pounds. One of the surprises is the price. The company should sell those truck for just $50,000. We say “just” because there are no too many Tesla vehicles under this mark.
Alongside the dual-motor version, the company is launching the tri-motor setup. This configuration sounds unrealistic. For $70,000, you will get 500 miles of range, max speed of 130 mph, and a towing capacity of 15,000 pounds. Well, sounds too good. After dual- and tri-motor editions, we’ll see the standard electric truck with a single battery. It won’t impress you as its siblings. The single-motor system covers 250 miles in a single charge and tows 7,500 lbs. The quad-motor setup is also possible, but details about this top of the range version are still unavailable. Anyway, it won’t be out before 2025.
When Will 2023 Tesla Cybertruck Be Available?
The company presented the truck and the test drive divided experts. But, that is what we all expected. The revolutionary design is coming along the revolutionary drivetrain. Tesla plans to launch the production model without big modifications on the body, although many criticized its practicality. The first versions to be available for pre-order are dual- and tri-motor configurations. The most affordable one, the single-battery truck, is coming out later, and it shouldn’t cost more than $40,000. But, the price estimations are a few months old. In the meantime, prices of everything went mad. Tesla can’t use the main reason for the increase – the gas price. All in all, the 2023 Cybertruck is bringing something new and causes other companies to go the same way – the environmental-friendly way.
