The Super Duty lineup is offering trucks derived from the most popular pickup in the US, Ford F-150. Vehicles F-250 and F-350 are for now only members of the lineup for 2018 Ford Super Duty segment. Nevertheless, we could see F-450, F-550, and in some countries special modifications of this pickups. But, we will focus on the most important market in the world. The US buyers are getting a refresh just a year after the major redesign and start of the new generation.
The first Ford Super Duty trucks appeared in 1999. It lasted for almost a decade. The second generation was the shortest, and the third one succeeded it in 2011. In 2017 we saw the latest, fourth generation of the trucks. It is still new, but Ford decides to refresh it a bit and fix all the lags buyers are complaining to.
2018 Ford Super Duty Release Date
The 2018 Ford Super Duty will come quietly during 2018. Since there are no big changes, the company will be focused on debuts of other vehicles. Nevertheless, it doesn’t mean that F-250 and F-350 are not so important to the company. Since the lineup is very similar to F-150, we can see similar changes in all models.
Ford Super Duty Build and Price
The 2018 Super Duty will have its production in Ohio and Kentucky plants. The price is not going to change too much. Currently, base F-250 costs $32,500 and the price tag of F-350 is $1,500 higher. F-450 is not certain yet for the 2018 year lineup, but it will cost at least $55,000. However, this and other versions will come later. Also, for the worldwide market, there is an assembly factory in Brazil.
2018 Ford Super Duty Changes and Colors
Modifications of the Ford Super Duty lineup are not huge. Vehicles will suffer only cosmetic updates. The cabin could get the most changes. Also, nothing radical should be expected, but Ford will upgrade infotainment system. The MyFord needs updates every now and then. Also, few safety additions will come, as well as some extra color options. In 2018 we could see 13 or 14 available paint jobs for Super Duty pickups.
Ford Super Duty Trim Levels
Similar to F-150, the 2018 Ford Super Duty will offer different kinds of cabs and beds. Buyers can choose between Regular, Super and Crew Cab. Also, there are short and long bed configurations. Finally, there are trim levels to choose adequate equipment. Starting from XL and XLT, and up to King Ranch and Platinum models, Super Duty lineup brings something for everyone.
Ford Super Duty Engines and Specs
Base units of 2018 Ford Super Duty lineup are using a 6.2-l V-8 engine. This fuel-flex unit is good for 385 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. Another possibility is coming with F-450 truck. This huge working machine can produce 920 lb-ft from its Power Stroke diesel engine. It can also make 450 hp. Both engines are using a 6-speed TorqShift transmission. In other countries, Ford will offer a manual gearbox.
