Ford is launching the new generation of pickup truck in 2024. The vehicle looks old, outside and inside. Plus, the company carried over the model based on Mazda BT-50. Ford ended this partnership, which means the Blue Oval truckmaker needs a new platform for the pickup. While there will be plenty of changes on the 2024 YM, the current version is less interesting. But, the 2023 Ford Ranger Tremor might be added as the farewell edition.
This exciting package fills the gap where the Raptor truck should be. It is a lighter version, but still exciting and ready to go off-road. The 2023 Ford Ranger Tremor is the special edition, since we didn’t see it in 2022. Previously, the company made an impact by delivering it for the 2021 YM. Still, the unique version didn’t reach the stardom where Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro and Chevy Colorado ZR2 are. Nevertheless, the Tremor package is giving another option to the fans of Ranger pickup.

To be ready for an off-road drive, the 2023 Ford Ranger Tremor had to go through numerous revisits and tests. But, it became a mean off-road truck, which was available only for the 2021 YM. The company didn’t discontinue it because of the bad performance. They planned a new truck sooner, and the off-road package was supposed to be one of the highlights of the next-gen Ranger. Well, it will be a kind of farewell edition for the current one.
The Tremor bundle includes upgrades on the suspension setup to provide better off-road performance. Of course, all-terrain tires are helpful too. 2023 Ford Ranger Tremor Powerplant
Engineers had no big tasks. The 2023 Ford Ranger Tremor is using a standard 2.3-liter turbo-four engine with 270 hp. This version can tow as much as other grades, up to 7,500 lbs. At previous tests, the truck hauled 6,000 pounds without problems and lags thanks to 310 lb-ft of torque. Well, four-wheel drive is standard for such a configuration. A 10-speed automatic transmission distributes power from the engine to the axles.
Impressions
This is going to be a special edition for the final appearance of the current Ranger. Expectations are mixed – while some enthusiasts can’t wait to see the 2023 Ford Ranger Tremor, others don’t like it since that is a one-shot appearance. First of all, most fans are disappointed with the lack of a Raptor package, available on the Euro-spec Ranger. Tremor is the consolidation grade, which can still deliver excitement.
There are unique upgrades and graphics available for the Tremor edition (which can debut in the Super Duty class as well). Experts are also together in criticizing Ford for not bringing in a larger engine. A six-cylinder plant would be more suitable for an off-road pickup. Well, we will have to wait for the new generation to see if it is going to offer an alternative to the turbo-four powertrain.
