It was just a matter of time. Toyota is a leader in electrification and there was no chance the company will let others dominate this market. It all started with the Tesla Cybertruck. Then, GM joined the race with Hummer and Silverado. Of course, there is no truck story without Ford. The 2024 Toyota Tundra EV is the new model of the new truck that is joining the lineup. Here is what we’ve learned so far.
The truck is updated and it is ready to conquer the market. But, even before we got some deep reports about the performance of the I Force and I Force Max configurations, the Japanese company announced the new drivetrain for the 2024 Toyota Tundra. Well, the all-electric pickup might not be in markets so soon, but the existence of the concept is definitely putting the truckmaker in a better position for the future.
New Engine Impression
The all-new Tundra drew a lot of attention. The updated styling is cool, but what happened with the engine lineup is more important to truckers. A 5.7-liter V8 was durable and reliable, but also thirsty and expensive for maintain. Engineers developed the new configuration, called the I Force. It relies on a 3.4-liter displacement (you’ll also find people calling this 3,445 cc unit a 3.5-l engine) which is getting a boost by turbochargers. In its base form, it can deliver 389 hp and 479 lb-ft. Compared to its predecessor, it is a significant torque upgrade. The truck also increases the towing capacity. Another option is the I Force Max. The same engine is combined with a hybrid setup and cracks 437 hp and 583 lb-ft. This combo can haul up to 11,500 lbs.
2024 Toyota Tundra EV
Things haven’t settled down and the new rumors already swam out. This time, we are trying to find out more about the 2024 Toyota Tundra EV. It is hard to predict anything about the all-electric truck. The company builds some class-leading hybrid configurations for big vehicles, but there are no electric SUVs. The unveiling of 15 EVs from 2021 is not taking a huge swing yet, and the 2024 Tundra can be postponed. Experts are not making predictions yet. All we have is a few concept images. Nevertheless, those are not showing the size of the prototype, leaving more room for speculations – it might be Tacoma EV.

2024 Toyota Tundra Prices
Until the electric truck becomes official, we’ll stick to the current offer. Tundra is all-new and the company has no reason to increase the price. But, no one can guarantee it won’t happen. The base version now costs $37,000. Truckers showed the most interest in the SR5 model, which is a $5,000 upgrade. Limited is still under $50k. Of course, the most popular package is the off-road oriented TRD Pro. We also expecting news about updates of this 4×4 truck, one of the best in the market. The price makes it a bit off-limits. We can call it a premium offer since it costs $70,000. There is only one model that beats this price – Capstone, with many high-end options.
