Multiple sources are reporting that the new 2024 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is on the way. The company updated the base truck and now they will revisit the ultimate version for the off-road drive. Tundra might not be the best-selling pickup, but the TRD Pro version is definitely a favorite among those who look for an adventure truck.
The first novelty that will be tested is a turbo-six engine. It is not easy to replace a good-old V8, durable and reliable in any situation. But, Toyota wouldn’t gamble with their reputation. So, expectations from the I Force are pretty high. The new 2024 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro will be just a cherry at the top of the cake.
I Force Engine
It didn’t take too long between the announcement and launch of the new engine. The company decided to replace a V8, mainly because of its poor gas mileage. Well, fans of off-road drive were not complaining too much. But, more buyers are taking Tundra to tow.
So, instead of a big 5.7-liter displacement, now we have the truck with a turbocharged V6. A 3.4-liter mill delivers 389 hp, which is already more than a V8, and 479 lb-ft of torque. Also, the truck is available with an enhanced version, I Force Max. In this case, you can get 437 hp and 583 lb-ft. It is our opinion that the 2024 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro will use this one rather than the base setup, or some other configuration we can find on other vehicles. An off-road drive needs a lot of torque.
New 2024 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Package
The truck is all-new. It was about time to launch an updated vehicle, after nearly 15 years of the previous version being in the market. So, the pickup draws attention with the fresh styling and powertrains. However, there are a few things that remained the same. The TRD Pro package was not updated, although it still makes the Tundra one of the best off-road trucks and a true rival to the Ford Raptor.
Fox shocks, skid plates, and all-terrain tires will be back, for sure. The Multi-Terrain system features the crawl control option. Compared to the base version, the TRD Pro sits 1 inch higher. Locking rear differential is needed for toughest challenges and road conditions. Of course, the package will also include numerous styling upgrades, such as a blacked-out grille, special graphics and a bedliner. Lighter TRD versions might also be available for the 2024 Tundra.
2024 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Prices
While the base version didn’t have a huge price boost, the cost of the TRD Pro package stunned many fans. Previously, you could buy this model with V8 engine for $55,000. Now, the price of the truck jumped by $15,000. So, when the all-new package gets here for the 2024 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, we can expect another price adjustment. If the company pushes too much, it will be more reasonable to add $10,000 and buy the Ram TRX with 700 horsepower. That will be enough for any off-road challenge you find.
TRD Pro best for off-road however, Toyota failed to even put front tow hooks on it. How do you go off-road, deep snow, greasy mud or on logging trails and not even have tow hooks on the front. This is a big failure for Toyota and Tundra. Have to be thinking Ram or Ford now after 20+ years of Toyota.
