The 2025 Ram 1500 Hurricane is the new model in the lineup. Actually, the Hurricane should be an engine. We know the company is bringing back the Tungsten grade, and a twin-turbo V6 unit might be under its hood. It is called Hurricane. With 500+ hp, it will be a plant between a 6.4-l V8 and the famous Hellcat.
The Dodge Ram 1500 Tungsten is taking position between Limited and TRX versions not only with the drivetrain but also the equipment it is using. The company will revisit the entire lineup. The new grade is introducing some innovations we already saw on the Revolution EV truck. For example, a wide passenger display. There will be plenty of other upgrades on the Tungsten package, but the Hurricane engine is the main one.
2025 Ram 1500 Hurricane Specs
The all-new 2025 Ram 1500 Hurricane will be out with a twin-turbo six-pot engine that produces 500+ horsepower. On the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, this plant can do 510 ponies. The truck could get even more. It also adds 500 pound-feet of torque. It is about to replace a 5,7-liter V8 and its 360 hp and 390 lb-ft. With such outputs, the six-cylinder engine is more than competitive.
The Hurricane configuration is not only beating the power outputs of a V8 unit. The turbocharged engine is going to keep the gas mileage at the same level, so enhancements are coming as a bonus. Fuel economy numbers will change compared to the Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
Another Novelty Accidentally Revealed – Tungsten Grade
The company is following modern trends and the Ram EV truck is coming out soon. This vehicle is already on the official website. It is called Ram Revolution. Specs are not bad and the pickup will be competitive against Ford F-150 Lightning and Chevy Silverado EV. There are other EV trucks as well, but expectations are the highest from the Big Three US companies.
There was a section in the presentation of the Revolution truck showing details about the Tungsten package. It was too early and admins deleted the page. Too late. Not only that Tungsten grade unveiled details about features it brings, but also the redesign changes on the truck. The package will be available both with standard and electric drivetrains. Fans still love internal combustion engines, so the EVs will need a lot of time to take over.
Other Engines
The truck is pretty versatile when it comes to the options. Compared to the main rivals, the Ram 1500 is not available with a turbo-four powertrain as the base version. The company kicks off with a proven V6 configuration. Also, a turbodiesel is still in the lineup and Ram will keep it running in the 2025 season. One V8 is dropped, but a 6.2-liter engine is still there to crack 700 horsepower for the TRX edition. A 6.4-liter naturally-aspirated model is also unlikely, since the new Hurricane engine replaces it with 510 hp and massive torque.
When Will 2025 Ram 1500 Hurricane Be Available?
Big things are coming with the new Ram truck. The redesign, the EV, the Hurricane engine. All these things need time to be configured in the right way. The Tungsten package is announced for 2025 season, so we expect other novelties to debut at the same time. We know about some things, but be sure that Ram is also bringing some surprises. And we are not talking about the new compact truck.
Verdict
Not only in the truck market but also other vehicles are introducing smaller turbocharged displacements instead of bigger and thirstier units. So, V8 mills are slowly becoming history. Toyota dropped its legendary 5.7-liter engine, and now Ram is launching the Hurricane instead of its V8s, and it seems Nissan will go the same way. Ford F-150 will use an eight-cylinder mill at high-end versions, but it is just a matter of time before the Blue Oval is dropping it as well. For now, only GM is still relying on the power of big and thirsty units.
