GMC Sierra 1500 and Chevy Silverado are close siblings. These two trucks share a lot in common. Now, GMC’s vehicle will get its own version of something like Silverado Trail Boss. It will be 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 All Terrain truck. This model is spied and experts can notice few modifications at the first sight. Even the heavy cover doesn’t hide details from sharp-eyed fans and enthusiasts.
The All Terrain package is already available on the current Sierra. However, the new truck will get more features. For the upcoming model, the company prepares something similar to Silverado Trail Boss, but still very different. In the matter of fact, the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 All Terrain could be very close to top models in its lineup, Denali, and SLT.
2019 GMC Sierra 1500 All Terrain Package and Upgrades
We had to wait longer than we thought for the debut of Sierra 1500 for next season. All other companies already presented their models, and GMC was the last one to introduce new pickup. However, they are now unveiling trim levels and extra options for it. The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 All Terrain is the surprise for many fans, although we saw this version before. But, now it won’t offer only one level of equipment since buyers can choose between All Terrain, All Terrain SLT, and All Terrain X package.
Spy shots were taken. According to these images, the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 All Terrain is riding higher than its siblings. As far as we understand, the truck will upgrade Z71 version. There, drivers could get a unique suspension and skid plates. All Terrain package for 2019 Sierra 1500 will add Eaton locking rear differential and Rancho shocks. Of course, there are special wheels and DuraTrac tires. Overall appearance is much more aggressive thanks to cat-back exhaust.
Besides few things that will make the appearance of the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 All Terrain different, the truck is having a reconstruction of the cabin. Bucket seats and the modified console was part of the previous base All Terrain package. Now, we will see a different design. Upper, Premium level adds heated steering wheel and park assist for sure, and many other cosmetic upgrades. Finally, the All Terrain X package includes visual details that we can’t find on other trucks. It will probably cost around $5,000, while other two levels should be around $3,000 and $3,500.
2019 GMC Sierra 1500 All Terrain Engines
The biggest news about the upcoming Sierra 1500 is a diesel engine. This kind of powertrain joins the lineup and makes a truck even more competitive on the market. However, this was a logical step after Ford’s unveiling of F-150 diesel and Ram 1500 going the same way. Unfortunately, the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 All Terrain won’t be available with diesel unit under its hood.
Instead, this package will come only with 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter petrol drivetrains. Smaller unit pairs a proven eight-speed transmission, while the other V-8 engine is mated to a new 10-pace gearbox. We expect GMC to come out soon with performance numbers, at first place power and torque output. Also, we still don’t know fuel economy rating.
