The truck is the next vehicle to get Nismo performance parts. It’s been a year since the Nissan announced the big news. But, no further updates were released. Now, a year later, what we know about 2019 Nissan Titan Nismo? Not too much. Officially. But, the leaking sources and rumors could give us clues in which direction development goes.
We could tune Nissan with tuned Nismo performance parts, such as cold air intake or exhaust systems. The 2019 Nissan Titan Nismo edition will have all boosters certified by the Japanese company. Specs, compared to the regular full-size truck, will jump to the sky. Well, a 5.6-liter on the standard pickup is powerful enough, but first announcements say that engine is getting 150 ponies more.
2019 Nissan Titan Nismo Specs
So, the Nissan Titan truck is getting power from a V-8 unit which is capable to deliver 390 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed auto transmission, the choice between RWD and AWD, and a towing capacity of nearly 10k pounds are enough for some truckers.
The engine for the 2019 Nissan Titan Nismo is not selected yet. The company is testing many powertrains. However, the goal is to make Titan Nismo edition a real competitor to Ford F-150 Raptor. To achieve that, engineers are sure that 550 hp output will be enough.
2019 Nissan Titan Nismo Based on the Warrior Concept
Earlier, we could see Nissan presented the Titan Warrior platform. This model is more based on the Titan XD heavy-duty truck. For the regular version, it would be too big. But, the 2019 Nissan Titan Nismo could use some parts from the Warrior. First of all, its aggressive appearance is perfectly matching the Nismo ideas. Unique exhaust tips, grille, and other parts will make Titan more aggressive.
Also, the Warrior is tuned for an off-road drive. Special shocks and suspension are definitely coming for 2019 Nissan Titan Nismo as well. Other performance parts will find its way too, but after the company finally unveils the engine choice for the pickup truck.
2019 Nissan Titan Nismo vs Ford F-150 Raptor
If everything finishes according to plan, the 2019 Nissan Titan Nismo will get 100 horses more than the Ford F-150 Raptor. However, the Blue Oval company is using a high-output version of a V-6 engine, while Nissan will probably go with a V-8. But, a 150 hp boost on the standard performance will definitely put the Titan Nismo at the first plan. Both trucks will get a facelift and more aggressive design than the base models. So, personal experience will be decisive if the engine power is not so important.
2019 Nissan Titan Nismo Release Date
Nissan will have to act fast if they want to be a part of the high-performance truck market. Not only that Ford has its Raptor, but also Ram and Chevy are going to debut with special versions of their pickups. Also, GMC Sierra 1500 Denali is coming soon, while Toyota is preparing a new TRD Pro package for both Tacoma and Tundra. A year after the official announcement, we expect to see at least the concept of the 2019 Nissan Titan Nismo.
