General Motors and its full-size truck are not competitive with the Ford F-150. Now, they have to pay more attention to FCA, who sold more Ram 1500 full-size pickups. It is still early for a huge response, but expect big news in the future. The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 is not going to take radical moves.
We could hear rumors about the hybrid engine. However, the truck already has plenty of options, including new turbo-four and diesel drivetrains, trim levels, and various add-ons. Also, GM is not pretty active in the electric segment, especially within big rigs. So, it is not realistic to expect from their truck to be the first of this kind.
2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 Engines
The wide offer of engines didn’t help the current generation of the pickup. Ram 1500 is selling better, although Silverado is offering more drivetrains. The weakest unit in the squad is a big V6 engine. A 4.3-l displacement delivers 285, which is 25 ponies less than the new 2.7-liter turbo-four. The latest addition to the lineup also makes 350 lb-ft of torque.
A pair of V8 units are the choice of most buyers. Lighter versions are coming with a 5.3-liter engine, which creates 355 hp and 383 lb-ft, and also include a 10-speed automatic transmission. The same gearbox forwards power from a 6.2-liter V8 powerplant. Top of the class trucks will crunch 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.
Diesel
The most exciting model for the previous season was 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 Diesel. Well, buyers will probably cool off and pick V8 petrol units again. Still, Duramax made their engine deliver 277 horsepower, which is class-leading power output. A 3.0 turbodiesel also produces 460 lb-ft of torque and improves the fuel economy (23/33 mpg 2WD).
Trim Levels
Trail Boss is the new model in the squad. It showed up well and we believe the company will keep it in the lineup. It is positioned just above the entry-level versions. Still, you can upgrade the LT truck with the Trail Boss package. Still, the most impressive add-on is Z71. The company could add the off-road ZR2 to compete with Ford Raptor. The most luxurious version is 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 High Country. This model comes with 20-inch chromed wheels, spray-on bedliner, premium sound system, side steps, and many other upgrades, including the price.
2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 Prices, Other Options
As said, a lot of choices are ahead of 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 buyers. It is not an easy task to build the perfect model. The cheapest one you can get will cost $28,500. Three types of the cabin are available – Regular, Double, and CrewCab, which you can combine with short, standard, and long beds. RST model offers all but a 4.3-liter engine, while other trims can’t do better than three. The prices for turbodiesel and 6.2 are equal. Heavily loaded High Country version will cost nearly $75,000. It is still way lower than the Ford F-150 Limited. The new Silverado 1500 ZR2 could be the new chief if it arrives with 600+ horsepower.
