Jeep Gladiator – the Jeep Wrangler Truck
The subtitle tells you everything about the Gladiator. Jeep is on the pickup market after 30 years. It was a bit of a surprise, since everyone expected either Ram badge, or the Dodge Dakota. So, the Gladiator is using the same platform as the Wrangler, and most of the options the SUV is offering. You won’t find a two-door layout, but the convertible pickup is one of the rarities in the market nowadays.
Besides the option for the open-air cabin, the Gladiator is also coming with a petrol or diesel engine. An oil-burner causes a lot of discussion, since it is the same mill a full-size Ram 1500 is using.

Hummer Electric Convertible Truck
A convertible pickup truck and an EV… that is the new GMC Hummer. The truck comes with plenty of innovations, such as diagonal moving thanks to the Crab Walk feature, or the Extract Mode that increases the space between the pickup and the ground. Designers of the General Motors company decided to build convertible pickup trucks, although it is not quite common. We might also see some of the most popular nameplates with a similar option, for example, Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra. But, what really makes the GMC Hummer so special is its electric drivetrain. Multiple choices are available, with a single, dual, or even three-motor system. Still, the price is pretty high for the convertible truck.
Dodge Dakota Convertible: Comeback
Rumors about the return of the famous model and one of the convertible pickup trucks are floating. Fans are not too happy with the Jeep Gladiator and the Stellantis group could turn to the safer choice and Dodge Ram brand. The redesign is the biggest obstacle here, since the pickup is going to use pretty much the same drivetrains as its sibling from the Jeep family.

Meanwhile, Ford and Toyota, as two leading truckmakers, are not considering convertible pickup trucks of their models. Well, this might be a move by Ram and GM which could make them competitive. But, the market for such vehicles is not too huge. Like said – practicality is way over styling in the truck world.
