The Ram Macho Power Wagon is a concept that could get into production soon. The company is well known for its special editions, and the vehicle could become a reality after the debut a couple of years ago. Well, the Macho package dates back in the 1970s, when the Power Wagon was a part of Dodge lineup. Now, Dodge Ram is coming back with this appearance package.
Ram 2500 HD truck offers the unique trim level – Power Wagon. Furthermore, there are some cool packages available for this pickup every now and then. We already saw the Mojave edition. SEMA Show in Las Vegas showed us a new concept and the comeback of the suite that was popular during 1970s. Macho truckers deserve the Macho truck.
Ram Macho Power Wagon Concept
The concept of the Ram Macho Power Wagon was presented at SEMA Show in 2016. Back then the Macho package seemed to be realistic. The concept didn’t offer some futuristic solutions. In the matter of fact, it combined the modern elements with the old-school details.
Outside, there is a well-known black stripe on the side of the truck. As you can guess – it’s back. Cargo rack and the housing are double-sized for the new model. You can load really long items on the Ram Macho Power Wagon. The truck will get extra ground clearance. The suspension lift is 4 inches. The concept truck wore huge wheels and all-terrain tires.
The front fascia and its bumper are holding the winch with tow hooks, unveiling Macho’s off-road character. Fender flares are making the Ram 2500 Power Wagon even more aggressive. The bright orange is a color choice for the concept. Even if it is replaced for the production, the company will paint the body to make it eye-catching.
The cabin is not introducing anything new about the Ram Power Wagon. There is room for six passengers and cloth seats are default upholstery. Optionally, the truck can use leather instead. Uconnect4 infotainment system with 8.4-inch display is standard, and you can upgrade it with Apple CarPlay, Navigation, or premium audio. A power moonroof is another cool upgrade for the Macho Power Wagon.
Ram Macho Power Wagon Specs
The Ram Macho Power Wagon will use a 6.4-liter V8 heavy-duty engine with 410 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. Power Wagon and Macho package are not offering a turbodiesel unit, although there are some rumors the truck could get a Hellcat drivetrain. In this case, the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 could burst 707 hp. However, this is not so likely outcome. The company will probably stick up to the Hemi unit and its eight-speed gearbox.
Release Date and Price
The Macho package is all about exterior updates if it misses the Hellcat engine. Cosmetic modifications are not going to affect the price as it would be with the new engine. Power Wagon trim for Ram 2500 HD costs $55,000 and the Macho version won’t add more than $3,000. The production of the concept we saw in 2016 could start early next year and by summer the Macho Power Wagon should be in dealerships.
