Avalanche pickup truck used to share the platform with Chevrolet Tahoe crossover. That made it very attractive and looking cool. Numerous add-ons and extra features are highlights of this vehicle. Nevertheless, after some while, fans had to choose between trucks and crossovers, and it is a battle where SUVs are favorites. Now, 2018 Chevy Avalanche is coming back, but it is going to use another approach. As its new name unveils, Silverado will borrow a platform to Avalanche.

Updates and Exterior

The new 2018 Chevy Avalanche pickup is going to be more functional. Weak performance is one of the reasons why it was cut from production for a while. Nevertheless, its styling was never doubtful. The highlight of 2018 Silverado High Desert is a unique bed. It is versatile and weatherproof. It comes with a cover in three parts for easier mount and unmounts. Extra space could be found on the side walls of the bed. Cargo divider is adjustable, and High Desert truck offers features for a secure lock of the load.

2018 Chevy Avalanche is using a new drivetrain

A 5.3-l V-8 engine is not all-new for Avalanche. It is the last mill that produced energy for this truck. The same drivetrain is very certain for new 2018 Chevy Silverado High Desert. But, it will suffer big returning before it returns. Nevertheless, there are other possibilities with bigger 6.2-l EcoTec V-8 and smaller 4.3-l V-6 units from current Silverado lineup. However, the 2018 Chevy Avalanche must produce enough power to satisfy all needs of its buyers and fans.

  1. I live in Amarillo, Texas….I owned 2 Chevrolet Avalanches, My son still has the used one I bought him in 2009(he has had to put new engine in it and other things things to keep it up and going, it is a 2003). I had a NEW 2009 Avalanche …the summer of 2016 I left town due to a funeral and I came back…
someone broke into my garage and totaled out the whole electrical system and computer system (I can’t explain all the damage, there was so much). I had it towed to Chevy dealership where I bought it….long story short…the mechanics could NOT fix it , not one machanic, had the education to rewire the whole truck. it would be to dangerous for anyone to. My Insurance company totalled it, and I ask the salesman where the NEW AVALANCHES was they informed me CHEVROLET STOPPED MAKING AVALANCHES!!! I just started crying because mine was in mint condition….so I ended up buying a NEW 2016 Texas Edition Silverado…It is a nice truck but my Avalanche put it to shame. PLEASE TELL ME THE AVALANCHE IS REALLY COMING BACK AND IS STILL ON A SUBURBAN FRAME THAT GIVES IT THAT GREAT RIDE…..The Chevy dealerships here in Amarillo, Texas told me it was just a rumor…The AVALANCHE IS NEVER COMING BACK!!! PLEASE TELL IT IS COMING BACK AND WHEN THEY WILL BE FOR SALE IN AMARILLO ,TEXAS??? Thank You for reading my email.

    • We don’t understand why did Chevrolet cut Avalanche. Many other owners feel like you. We’ve been listening rumors and stories about plans to bring the Avalanche back, but it seems like it won’t happen this season.

  3. I owned two brand new Chevrolet Avalanche’s back in 2003. I would not hesitate to buy a brand new 2018 or 2019. This was the very best SUV/TRUCK that Chevrolet put on the Assembly line. Even the Commercial’s were excellent when being broadcast on television. That caught my eye, and I went to the nearest Chevrolet dealership to buy my brand new 2003 Avalanche. The exterior color was Arrival Blue with dark grey interior.
