Rear-wheel drive is standard, while AWD comes optional.

These numbers are expecting a significant boost with the arrival of a diesel drivetrain. It seems like that a 2.8-l 4-cylinder unit used by Hilux is the favorite to take the position under the hood. We can’t guess exact towing result increase, since turbo- and super-chargers are in the mix for 2019 Tacoma. Nevertheless, this will add another option for buyers.
